This year’s VersoFest at the Westport Library was an electrifying fusion of art, music, and technology—earning its title as The Loudest Library thanks to 5ivefingaz.

The scene? An 18-foot video wall transformed into a live digital canvas as local artists from Westport, Norwalk, and Stamford drew in real-time using iPads. Spectators watched and danced while their lines come to life as the artwork was projected overhead in sync with the beat of live DJ sets.

The 35-foot stage pulsed with energy thanks to several local DJs like DJ Dinero and DJ GKing, whose mixes were broadcast throughout the venue. A video feed of the DJs spinning added another layer of immersion, while state-of-the-art sound and theatrical lighting amped up the atmosphere. The Art Monster Studio logo was projected dramatically on the back wall, a beacon for creative expression and bold collaboration.

Six artists including myself, a Norwalk Art Space fellow and resident artist Viviane Rivas, each contributing to the evolving digital mural throughout the event. The blend of performance, projection, and visual storytelling made the library feel more like a cutting-edge club than a traditional reading space.

VersoFest continues to push boundaries—turning public spaces into multi-sensory experiences where artists and musicians connect with community in unforgettable ways. Learn more at versofest.org.
