From Japan to Stamford: My Creative Journey on the HeyStamford Podcast
Art, community, and the power of public spaces. I recently joined PJ of HeyStamford for a conversation about my creative journey, the people who have shaped it, and how art can bring communities together.

We covered a lot of ground, from my adolescence in Japan and growing up in a creative family to attending Stamford High School and Cooper Union School of Art. We also talked about the impact of the Jackie Robinson Foundation, my involvement with the Norwalk Arts Commission and Stamford Downtown, and how those experiences continue to influence my work.
One of my favorite parts of the conversation was exploring the power of public art and placemaking. We discussed painting murals alongside family and friends, transforming everyday spaces through creativity, and projects like The SEED at Mill River Park that invite the community to participate in the artistic process.
I'm grateful to PJ and HeyStamford for the opportunity to share my story and reflect on the connections between art, people, and place.
