PROCESS & DESIGN

Unlike written biographies, photo albums, and scrapbooks, Studio 162's heirloom books harmonize images, type, and design. Studio 162's goal is to transcend time to remind what is forgotten, communicate to future generations, and bring importance to an individual's history, family and experiences.

To begin, the designer and client discuss a theme, design idea and budget. Next, the designer collects photographs and memorabilia and chooses the appropriate material to fulfill that vision. It is important to note that the research, including looking through photos, and composing narrative is Studio 162's responsibility, so the process requires little of the client's time.

All images are are scanned and often retouched at Studio 162. Studio 162 uses a variety of archival materials to produce these artistic, quality pieces.
