specializing in website and graphic design. Our creative team pride

Founder, Lauren Clayton has appeared in numerous magazines, including
Jewel, Black Enterprise, and New Canaan Magazine and has also appeared
on Connecticut New Channel 12’s Our Lives, hosted by Gwen Edwards.

Lauren, founder and head designer of Studio 162, studied graphic design, photography and printmaking at the Cooper Union School of Art in NYC. After writing an award winning business plan and receiving a grant for $20k in start up capital from the Miller Brewing Company’s Urban Entrepreneur Business Grant Series, she launched Studio 162 in 2003. Lauren specialized in designing handmade family heirloom books at the start of her business, but has grown to offer a variety of design solutions. She is an alumna of the Jackie Robinson Foundation, a national foundation awarding scholarships to minority high school students who have excelled academically and in their community. In 2011, she was appointed to the Board of Directors for the Yerwood Center, a Stamford community center. Lauren remains active in her community by mentoring students entering college and donating design serivces to small non-profits.
DesignME Internship Program
Studio 162 invites high school and college students to apply for an internship at the award winning Studio 162. Students apply for a chance to intern at the Studio for 3 months and earn school credits, money for school and art supplies and much more.
